Welcome to our next blog. For those new to the blog and groups,  we focus on the Hebrew aspect of the scriptures. Knowledge of the Hebrew language is not a requirement to be part of this journey, however, it will inspire you to know more. If you are new to the Hebrew Letters, below is a link to the last blog on the Living Letters. Within that blog are the links to all the letters. (LINK)

Mystic Realms of the Hebrew word: Za-kur זכור Memory

In today’s blog we connect with the letter Zayin ז, and our focus word is Za-kur זכור, and it means ‘Remember or Memory’.

This word has original intent written all over it. As we engage with זכור, I trust that the original design and that which is embedded within you will gush forth with new intent as the waters of remembrance wash over you.

When you think of Memory or Remembering, it is an action that is anchored in the past. How do you recall something if it hasn’t happened already? It is key as a son of God to remember; we are not bound to time and space. Yes, we live in it, but it doesn’t govern us because creation looks to you for governance. When you meditate on ‘remembering’, we approach it all-encompassing, past, present and future. As we engage with זכור, we occupy the full spectrum of time to bring about original intent, being God’s first thought and last action.

As I studied the Hebrew word, there are two variants: זכור and זכר. The first one contains a Vav ו, and the 2nd no ו. A reminder, we are not focussing on grammatical purposes but the mystical aspect. Though pronounced slightly different, they both basically have the same meaning, however, זכור had an added dimension to it.

Dictionary of Biblical Languages with Semantic Domains: Hebrew (Old Testament) 2345 זָכוּר

2345 זָכוּר (zā·ḵûr) Str 2138 remembered, pertaining to a recalling from memory, implying a response from the one remembering

The general meaning of זכר ZA-KAR is to recall information or events, however, זכור ZA-KUR, the focus is on Yahweh remembering, implying a response from the one remembering, the original thought from within Him. The scripture that links to this is:

Psalm 103:14 NIV

for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.

Depending on the glasses you read through, the above scripture could either mean you are worthless and nothing… or… something amazing and special. I’m with latter of course.
זכור is entangling with what Yahweh knows about you, that intimate place of bliss where breath and dust intertwine to bring about everything you are in Him.

Dust was not dust in the way we understand it as ground or dirt. We weren’t shaped from cursed ground. The ground we are familiar with comprises decomposed plant matter, rocks etc, because of the decay of time and fallen nature’s effect on creation. That did not exist then. What dust could resemble the perfect presence and glory of YHVH but… GOLD. Za-kur is that secret place within Yahweh, where the perfect design of who you are in Him is released through the breath into the gold dust. That release into the dust triggered original intent and the dust, already shaped by Yahweh, entangled itself with the breath to bring about a living being. That’s the secret with זכור, when our words line up with Yahweh’s intent, it entangles with original design and brings forth. It is already encoded into creation.

Psalm 139:13–15 NIV

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.

Being woven together in the depths of the earth is a mysterious statement in its self, and there is a clear connection between the depths and the secret place. It is a place א represents as the first letter. All design, plans and intent lies in the secret place of א. Jesus, slained at the foundation of the world engaged זכור. He remembered who we are in Him and through His blood secured that position. The blood sealed the memory so all creation may carry the original design of who and what we are IN HIM. That’s why ב (temple) is after א. Divinely positioned to be the gate of  remembrance.

That’s what communion does.

Luke 22:19 NIV

And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

The Za-kur within the blood continues to release the secret place of original intent, when we remember Jesus, we trigger the memory of who we are in Him and our pre-existence within the breath. When you partake of communion, declare and release that memory.

There’s a hidden reason Jesus breathed over the disciples:

John 20:22 NIV

And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

Over and above the focus on the Holy Spirit, the breath released over the disciples was to bring their spirit man into remembrance זכור of who they ARE within the breath. Not only were they to receive it, but they are the gate. As they received the Holy Spirit as a prophetic action of Pentecost… the real purpose was the breath igniting זכור, the original frame to which Holy Spirit would entangle on Pentecost to revive the secret place.

Did you know, based on the measurements given for Solomon’s temple, there seems to be a secret chamber above the Holy of Holies where the Ark rests. It’s not expanded upon in scripture and no one can confirm or deny it, which adds to its secrecy. I can believe it. As the presence would rise from between the cherubim on the Ark of the Covenant, a frequency and fragrance would elevate up into the secret place, creating the atmosphere before the foundations of the world.

I remember during the Toronto blessing, an event which shaped and had a profound impact on my life, wrote a song titled: Take we away to your secret place. It had a frequency of intimacy that constantly beckoned you to the inner chamber within Yahweh where all of you are revealed within Him. Everything is written and birthed in that place.

זכור takes you back to live from the chamber within the heart of the Father.

Exodus 6:5 NIV

Moreover, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered my covenant.

Do you at times feel like the Father has forgotten you, or maybe just placed you on the back burner. זכור is calling you back to the secret place. Back into the realm that is soaked with the fragrance and incense of original design within Him. A realm of repositioning and alignment, that place where you will be refreshed by the breath and hear the whisper from His heart…do you remember…
