Welcome to our next blog. For those new to the blog and groups,  we focus on the Hebrew aspect of the scriptures. Knowledge of the Hebrew language is not a requirement to be part of this journey, however, it will inspire you to know more. If you are new to the Hebrew Letters, below is a link to the last blog on the Living Letters. Within that blog are the links to all the letters. (LINK) When you look to the right of the blog you’ll see categories that you can browse. There’s no specific starting point, but i do suggest you work through the Hebrew Letters first.

The podcast for the blog appears at the end of the blog. The Throne Room engagement recordings are added on Mondays, so when you go to the previous blogs you’ll find them below the podcast. Not all engagement recordings are public so they are only accessible through the blog. Thank you for being part of the journey.

Mystic realms of the Hebrew word: מְגִלָּה meḡil·lā(h) – Scroll

I’m fairly convinced most people have seen the movie ‘Gladiator’ with Russell Crowe as Maximus. In the beginning of the movie, Maximus, who is the general of the Roman army, inspires his warriors with a speech before they go to war. In this speech, Maximus says to the soldiers ‘What we do in life, echoes in eternity’. It is a phrase that resonates with me.

Our focus word in this blog is מְגִלָּה, and it means ‘scroll’. It is in close partnership with סֵפֶר sē·p̄ěr, which is the written part of the scroll. מְגִלָּה starts with MEM and is my favourite Hebrew letter. MEM means water and represents the secret and mysteries of the Kingdom of God. Hebrew letters are divinely positioned. There’s a reason ‘scroll’ would start with מ

Dictionary of Biblical Languages with Semantic Domains: Hebrew (Old Testament) 4479 מְגִלָּה
מְגִלָּה (meḡil·lā(h)
scroll, book-roll, i.e., a section of writing material (likely vellum or papyrus) in rolled up form, not a codex or book

Dictionary of Biblical Languages with Semantic Domains: Hebrew (Old Testament) 6219 I. סֵפֶר

סֵפֶר (sē·p̄ěr):
written communication, letter, document, i.e., any communication document in a written form, usually as a “book” recording of various past events, or precepts often relatively long, but also includes official messages dispatched, with a focus on the content of the book

Have you noticed there are times in the bible when Yahweh requests His words to be recorded.

Exodus 17:14 NIV

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out the name of Amalek from under heaven.”

The significance of מְגִלָּה is a mandate spoken by God that contains inheritance. An inheritance is everything we possess before the fall, so that afterwards, things can be redeemed & restored to its Kingdom purpose. That’s why מ is a key letter in the scroll, it contains secrets and mysteries spoken by Yahweh over you to live as a new creation being. Think of my ‘Gladiator’ example: Your scroll echoes the destiny Yahweh wrote over you from before creation, so that you, as a new creation being, can walk and align yourself with the echo of Yahweh’s frequency within your scroll. When your spirit man resonates with the echo in your scroll, you walk in destiny and the inheritance that’s yours as a son of God.

Anything ordained by God is first written in the scrolls of heaven and then sent to earth to be manifested in flesh. The reason it is written is that it can echo with the living Word, which is Jesus. It is the echo of the frequency of His image that brings about remembrance, our original intent and destiny. When you walk out your scroll, you release a sound, an original song written and grafted into your DNA by Yahweh. That frequency in the scroll entangles with your DNA, and you gain a sense of purpose. You recall that feeling, when you know you know you are exactly where God wants you to be beyond a shadow of doubt….it’s that moment when you are in that sweet spot of the echo in your scroll entangling your DNA.

Psalm 40:7 NIV

Then I said, “Here I am, I have come — it is written about me in the scroll.

In this psalm David declares the remembrance within the scroll manifesting in his walk. What is so profound about the echo? Jesus did it so you can walk in it. It is effortless engaging, a free flow of rhythm that creates a dance with the creator.

Jeremiah 36:2 NIV

“Take a scroll and write on it all the words I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah and all the other nations from the time I began speaking to you in the reign of Josiah till now.

Ezekiel 3:1–3 NIV

And he said to me, “Son of man, eat what is before you, eat this scroll; then go and speak to the people of Israel.” So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat. Then he said to me, “Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your stomach with it.” So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth.

Odd to eat a scroll, don’t you think…? The mystery of a scroll finds its origins in the breath of Yahweh. When He breathed into your frame at creation, He embedded the frequency of your unique scroll within your framework. For Ezekiel to eat the scroll was to entangle the echo of Yahweh’s breath with the sound of his scroll, which gave momentum for him to redeem his destiny.

Acts 17:24–28 NIV

“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’

This verse is confirmation of the very purpose of a scroll… to seek Him, reach out for him and find Him. Why? Because your scroll, your destiny, lives by the breath of Yahweh. Think of it this way… your scroll מְגִלָּה carry the notes, your framework possesses the frequency, when they entangle you have a sound with a purpose, a symphony… the song written in your DNA.

Jeremiah 1:5 NIV

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Ephesians 2:10 NKJV

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

One meaning for workmanship is a ‘POEM’ or ‘POETRY’. When you redeem your destiny, you release the song written in you before the foundations of the world. NO ONE can fulfil your scroll… That scroll only has your DNA, it either lives or dies with you.

During our engagement group on Wednesday, we are going to ascend the ladder of frankincense and step into our scrolls. Prepare your heart for revelation and the redemption of purpose.
