Mystic realms of divine romance – The Chosen

Song of Solomon 6:7–9 NIV

7 Your temples behind your veil are like the halves of a pomegranate. 8 Sixty queens there may be, and eighty concubines, and virgins beyond number; 9 but my dove, my perfect one, is unique, the only daughter of her mother, the favourite of the one who bore her. The young women saw her and called her blessed; the queens and concubines praised her.

“Your beautiful blushing cheeks reveal how real your passion is for me, even hidden behind your veil of humility. I could have chosen any from among the vast multitude of royal ones who follow me. But unique is my beloved dove—unrivalled in beauty, without equal, beyond compare, the perfect one, the favourite one. Others see your beauty and sing of your joy. Brides and queens chant your praise: “How blessed is she!””

The Hebrew for ‘called her blessed’:

אָשַׁר (ʾā·šǎr)

It is the same spelling but different vowels for the Tribe of Asher אָשֵׁר (ʾā·šēr)

In this passage, He refers to her blood line inheritance in the tribe of Asher:

Deuteronomy 33:24 NIV

24 About Asher he said: “Most blessed of sons is Asher; let him be favoured by his brothers, and let him bathe his feet in oil.

Within the mystic realms of divine romance, Jesus chose you as His favourite. You are the one He settled has no rival, no equal, no comparison… you are His favourite perfect one. Being spoiled for choice, only one stood out for Him…YOU. So much so that He coded it into your DNA. You are most blessed and favoured. 

Have you seen the movie ‘Ever After’, Drew Barrymore plays Cinderella? I love that movie. It is such a beautiful portrait of someone who might not have the right clothing or title, yet captured the heart of the prince because of who and what she was. Her inner strength and character captured his heart when he could literally choose any lady of title and stature within the kingdom. You are Yeshua’s Cinderella. So, gentlemen, I don’t really know what the male for Cinderella is, but you’ll have to flow with it. 

Life is a respecter of no person. It can beat you to the ground until you feel you never want to get up. We’ve all had it hard somewhere?

My parents divorced when I was 12, both were loving people. At 13, I made a friend that influenced me to smoke. One day during the week, while smoking outside, our maid saw me and told my mom. That night she phoned my dad, where I was staying for the night. As he put the phone down, he slowly turned towards me, and with a turn of events, slung his fist into my face. I fell to the ground, and he kicked me as I was lying on the floor. The following day, I went to school with a blue eye and bruises on my face and body. I had to lie to the teacher and say it was from my karate lesson. Age 14 I was in 6 different high schools… in one year. I did Grade 8 twice because I ran away from home several times and was off from school most of the year. At the age of 14, I was raped. Age 15, they caught me stealing tapes in a shop and had my first ride at the back of a police van. Age 16 I was well acquainted with sex, smoking and alcohol. By the age of 18 …. well…. I was a mess, and that is when the lover of my soul stepped into my life.

So here’s my question?

Have you maybe lost a slipper or two in the past? What you wear doesn’t define you. Sin is an action, shame is not feeling worthy because of that action. You do not have to live your life with a mantle of shame. A quote from Jim Carrey: Life doesn’t happen to you, but happens for you. After all that you’ve been through, you can decide whether those experiences are the bat or the ball. As the bat, it will decide the direction of the ball, but as the ball, you are the bat that determines its direction and purpose. Every morning I wake up and choose to go against all odds, risk the opinions and judgements of others so that I may have some part in helping others find themselves. 

As a New Creation being, the only opinion we care about… is His, no matter what your past, or even current situation. He said, I am His beloved. I am unrivalled in beauty, without equal, beyond compare, the perfect one, the favourite one. 

Your past is part of your story, but it’s not your identity. After all that you’ve been through, He STILL continues to woo you, beckoning you into the mystic realms of His divine romance. You have purpose, you have destiny, just as the scripture says: 

‘Others see your beauty and sing of your joy. Brides and queens chant your praise: “How blessed is she!”’

1 Peter 5:6–7 TPT

6 If you bow low in God’s awesome presence, he will eventually exalt you as you leave the timing in his hands. 7 Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.

Activation prayer

Thank you, Jesus, for my past. I honour every experience, even the painful ones, that helped to build and shape me. Most of all, thank you for YOU. I’m so in love with you. Thank you, that I am your beloved, I am your chosen favourite… Most blessed of sons am I, my feet are dipped in oil.
